Hulhumale’ Development Corporation (HDC), has revealed that construction of the 500 housing units are on going. This 500 housing units are intended to ease housing difficulties faced in Male’.
The work on site preparation of 51 building out of 63 that are to be constructed has been completed and that concrete work of another 10 buildings is nearing completion. Masonry work on 30 buildings are on going and that if work continues according to schedule concrete work of 20 buildings ( 160 apartments ) will be completed by the end of this month.

The  50 % of the whole project will be completed by the end of this month & estimate that 15 % is already complete and that ongoing works includes masonry, plumbing and electrical wiring.

The contract was awarded to Aima Construction on 26 June 2007.  The project is 17 months and the project is due to completed by December 17 2008.
